Denouement

Denouement

First work I've been able to do since breaking my leg in October. The idea had been fermented with me for a couple of months.

the majority of intrepretations on this guy have been in the view of something dark and desparing - lemmings, suicide, shell casings, etc. That it seems thought provoking is pleasing, that the thoughts seem so preponderantly to the side of darkness is a mite troubling... Jim 8-|

Hi Bob,

My thoughts were - too much, too high - the inevitable result. The interpretations have been pretty troubling.

It is all steel, the little cylindrical parts are tapered roller bearings about 2 1/2 " in length.

Denouement is ( I think ) a French term for the stuff hitting the fan..

Very cool, I like the frozen motion effect and the idea that too much of anything has to fall away at some point... kinda like the housing market....

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming...
WOW--What a Ride!

HI Jim, without getting into philosophical interpretation of your work, which is okay too, your sculpture conveys a message rather dramatic. Movement and meaning are definetely striking to the viewer. In my view, you`ve acomplished a purpose, and your sculpture has caused various reactions. In all, an art success. Congratulations, I love it! Nelson.

Have you noticed the new guy... Union, this one came out exactly as envisioned and for some reason does not resonate with me at all..

Jim I went check UNION. It`s ok, it fits the concept well and must have been some precision work to set the disc between the two hand looking pieces. Nevertheless, I keep the cartridges one,(hard to spell and pronounce for me...).
Keep posting, and don`t mind being philosophical, that moves people, it`s great so! nelson.
