At last, a piece my wife hates, says it reminds her of "Body Snatchers". Going to a gallery in 2 weeks. Throw some names at me. jay the bird. PS, forarm pounded out of 2 1/2" shaft. I felt like Mr. Vega crafting the massive table legs. Chow

I'm sorry, I can't agree with your wife. This is really, really cool. It is one of those pieces that made me catch my breath before I said "wow!". All the different aspects of this are wonderful! How did you do the break/fracture where the fist comes through the plate? What is this made from?

Hey rob, glad you like the piece. The plate with fist coming through is 1/2". I tried in vain to hot punch but to much work, so I cheated by putting small plasma cuts in it then using 16lb. slege to beat a piece of 3" round through the hole. I will try to load a close up. jay

Hi Jay,
That`s an interesting concept, I mean having people get involved in naming some art work. First of all, I like it! The hand rupturing the base is drastic but effectively conveys a message. Beautiful rose and all OK! I don`t know where the hand is coming from, and we probably should not take it literally, but your wife may not be way off either.This is all subjective... Ì would name it: "TRIBUTE TO LIFE" , or
"LIFE TRIBUTE" . The meaning is different, right? You know Jay, I do that very often, unless I`m dead sure I want a specific name for a sculpture, so I show it to my friends and relatives and askèm for a name that suits the work... Nelson.

I really like the piece it is very powerful.
I guess I am not the only one who likes Surrealism!
I like this mounted on a wall possibly?
Or on top of a coffin for you sick puppies out there.

Great Piece and a great idea. Sorry your wife doesn't like it, I sure do.

My first thought when I viewed it "Honey I'm Home". (that makes 2 for that one.

Then I kind went silly and thought of "Thing is in Love" from the Adams Family.

Hey folks, been gone for the last week, got home to check art metal, and cracked up at the names you all came up with. All good but so far " Honey, I'm home" just keeps me laughing. Funny thing to, I told you guys that my wife hates the piece, well none of the art metal ladys responded, so maybe she was right! jay
