Springtime

Hi Janet,
Your "doodle" reminds me of springtime in da UP,eh? The part that ends in a scroll represents a Fiddle Head to me, just coming up. The two eye shaped parts make me think of a new Trout Lilly. The way you have some things going through another reminds me of new shoots popping through old leaves and snow.Time to fire up the sugar bush shack.Must be cabin fever.Nice piece, Janet. Ya got me dreaming....

I like the new work. This

I like the new work. This piece is very organic and has a lot of movement which tends to hold the eye. I like the two small models as well. I think both would make great sculpture park installations.

Hi Jake!!

Thank you so much....I'm inspired by all your outdoor pieces...I'm hoping to submit a proposal to Socrates Sculpture Park here in NYC. I would like to break into the public works
venue..Janet

Lovely Janet

Your work is lovely. This piece in particular is so interesting to look at, I just can't stop. The only possible downside is that the welds seem (to me) to be slightly distracting. Maybe they could be smaller / more hidden.
Wonderful work, and please keep it up. I look forward to seeing what else you have come up with.

oops!!!

Hi Rick,
Thanks for the compliments and critisim. Usually I'm so fussy about how clean everything should be. These pieces are kind of "thrown" together in the studio. Now that I look at it I think I'll clean up those welds. No problemo!
Also I usually patina these pieces. Do you think it would be more appealing patinaed? I't up on E-Bay but it's alittle hard to find. I'm learning.Janet

now that you mentioned the

now that you mentioned the welds........I think a "plug" weld would look like a much cleaner attachment on that curved sheet on the channel. Once ground flush it would disappear.
fwiw, I like a natural/raw look. ooooooh shiney :)

yeah,

yeah,

So now you show up Bill, after it's all together. . .
hmmmph

You n the guy that noted the dinky extension cord problem after Alex bought the new Welder

You're supposed to anticipate these things.

still, a judiciously applied cut off wheel to the weld edges ground clean and top of channel smooth, a drille hole through the channel and a neat plug weld from the bottom might take less time than trying to make the fillets pretty.

Just getting time

Janet,
Very nice piece, I have looked at it many times and always find some more little detail that I missed before. I really like the way this one flows, keeps your eyes tracing some.
In fact the little pieces you did I liked those too. The finish you have been using really makes the metal look like metal.......strong looking. I wanted to say this early but the hard for me to have time to reply.
