Here is my pre-welding days horse

Here's Veneticus...a full sized horse of scrap wood and stainless steel all bolted together...took some time to build.
Unfortunately he never made it through our first building renovation !!! Janet R.

Janet- OK, that is way cool!

Janet-
OK, that is way cool! I can imaging this took a bit of time. Too bad it got lost in the shuffel. Thanks for sharing this. Are you going to the thing at the Hutchinson Brothers Farm in Cordova MD this weekend? I'm giving it some thought, but my father in law's 75th is coming up, and I have to finish his birthday gift (read: not yet started).

I really like it Janet, you

I really like it Janet, you have such great design. How did you do it without welding?

Horse

Janet, that is a very cool piece. That took a lot of imagination to come up with that design.
I have seen some other horse sculptures I really liked but this one is great.
Seen a couple horses on a Burning Man site that were made from shredded semi tires. Those were cool too.

So, what did happen to the sculpture anyway?

Thanks for posting the picture.

Veneticus Out to Pasture!!!!

Thanks everyone for your wonderful support. Me and my husband were living in a loft in an industrial section .Downstairs was a stainless steel fabricating plant! Too bad before my welding days. This piece was bolted together from scrap wood and metal found around, dumpsters etc.
Unfortunately, when we moved and started renovating our present home (an old firehouse) it got messed up in the construction process.
It was days away from being bought and donated to a horse farm when the gentleman passed away! What Luck!
Anyway, after this big commission ,you have all inspired me to build one out of indestructable material! Welded steel.
I actually have a drawing I did years ago in conjunction with Veneticus. So thanks for the inspiration. Janet R.

Janet, I don't why I have

Janet,
I don't why I have never visited your web site before but it is really nice. You home (firehouse) is so cool. I am a firefighter in a metropolital department and it would be so cool to live in a building like that. I had never seen the dragonfly table before either and you know I loved it!!

Thanks Mele

Wow, a firefighter and a fireworker.....must have a lot of fire in your chart....that's commendable! Glad you like the work. Actually got some work done this weekend and snuck in some fun stuff too.I'll post them tomorrow...have to sort my camera out. Janet R.

Thank you ...for the link...Nice horses

Thanks Paula,
It's always nice to see other peoples work...always thought provoking. I don't know if you ever heard of DEborah Butterfield, but she'd been doing horses for a long time. Her first horses were made from twigs and dirt or manure...very organic. I guess she was an inspiration. After I made Veneticus, she too started to make welded horses and bronze horses. Look up her work. Janet R.
