Kewl piece

JR,
Hey just getting around to saying that your Headless Man is really cool. I like the flow of the body and texture of flexed muscles. Impressive piece. So is the next one going to have a head? You know you can do it.

Don't bow to the pressure

Very nice JR, and I think that this would (or could) be very different with a head. Depending on what type of head and/or what it looks like, the piece could be viewed very differently. Please don't bow to the pressure to put a head on your creations. Right now they are viewed for the value of the body itself. A head could change that, and probably would. Even the expression on the face could greatly change how the body of the art is viewed.

Rick, You're right, my stuff

Rick,

You're right, my stuff is a celebration of the human body, and I intentionally make them highly interpretational. Headless Man is more surreal, than realistic. I'm still relatively new to all this, so I haven't honed my skills enough to make a head that would due justice to the piece. Besides, like you said, it could lend an incongruent interpretation (view) of the piece.

As always, thanks for the feedback and the compliments!

I like how you represent the

I like how you represent the figure- everyone's seen photo-realistic art many times before. That shouldn't be a benchmark for judgement...
Art should always be open to individual interpretation. My travels and experiences are very different than the other viewers, so my perception may be, too. I believe it is the viewer who completes the work.

I am especially drawn to the hands...

Great! That "Head off and head down man "sculpture looks excellent to me. Is it bronze or steel?
