Dear Ellis,
Burningman is a sort of counter culture type festival,held at the end of the summer in a remote part of the desert in Nevada.There is allot of art displayed there much of which is in a style similar to this piece...It's called Burningman because they burn a huge wooden man and fire is a common theme for much of the art,performance,and other general mayhem that goes on out there.
