I love your nature series

I love your nature series Jake. VERY impressive. I like the way you have compressed a number of different elements in to the one sculpture.....and also avoided having too many pointy bits for members of the public to impale themselves on.

I am inspired to try and find a local corten supplier. I like the rusty look and usually just oil my outdoor sculptures, but it wont do for public art. So far, the minimum order is 500 tonnes so I'll keep looking.

Thanks!

Thanks Peter, compliments from the skilled metalsmiths, blacksmiths, and artists on this site carry so much more weight for me. I am lucky with regards to a Corten supplier. Central Steel and Wire out of Chicago, Illinois doesn't have much of a minimum and ships it right to me. Do you have a website? I'd love to see some of your oiled sculptures.

I'm intersted in one day creating something of nature, grasses etc...its really inspiring...but I guess I better buy tools and materials first though!!!

Cheers

Thanks Mandi, plant life,

Thanks Mandi, plant life, nature, and other organic designs are nice because you just have to take a few steps out your front door to start getting inspiration. I read that you were looking into a MIG set up, good choice to start with. It's the fastest and easiest to learn.

Hi Jake: as a farmer,I can`t

Hi Jake: as a farmer,I can`t help look back at those days dirt, plants and nature played such important part of my work, and life. The garden around my house, and landscape nearby don`t let my mind flee away from nature.I`ve followed your work, and I love your organic style. The way you intermingle different plant species that makes them look natural, but without loosing that sense of "artmetal" you put into it. Great work !nelson

Thanks Nelson, I'm sure

Thanks Nelson, I'm sure that down in your part of the world there are some beautiful and exotic examples of nature. Makes me a little jealous :) What crops did you grow as a farmer?.
