Sea Monkey

Sea Monkey

Sea Monkeys,
Another Piece utilizing some scrap.
I named it Sea Monkeys because I thought it was cute and it reminded me of well "Sea Monkey's".
For those of us who remember the old advertisements in newspapers and Comic Books.
Anyway, I'm not trying to subject myself to another Falshback just wanted to explain where the unusual name derived.

Sea Monkey

I love the flow of this work, it is very graceful. The finish is great with it, is it a rust or patina? It's hard to see from the picture ( or maybe it is just my old eyes). I would love to see a fish somewhere in the mix. Lin

Calming

Hi Chuck,
I like it. It doesn't remind me of sea monkeys, but it certainly has some kind of calming effect on me. The feeling of being underwater is is well portrayed.I keep waiting for a minnow to swim out from cover. This would be a great desktop sculpture for the over-stressed "office monkey".

Hi Chuck, this is my favorite of yours so far. I love the color and motion. It really does seem like it's actually underwater. Nice work.

A what?

Chuck,
Well I was looking and looked back again and again and finally I had to look up what a sea monkey looked like.

Anyhow the flowing of the piece is very nice. I did look twice to see if there were any bubbles. Good job.

Hi Chuck,
I`ve been a little busy so excuse my late comment. Anyhow, Sea monkey reminds me of my college botany clases where we study algae and other sea creatures. more expecifically a type of brown algae that looks just like that. Movement, color and shape are excellent. Chuck just looking at it, what about putting some glue on base and throwing some coarse and white sand on it... just an idea. Great job . nelson.
