It's Better in Black

It's Better in Black

Well after at lot of contemplation, I decided to re-paint "Inner Peacce"
It was originally White (which i liked)
However, I want to sell these sculptures and the majority of the people I spoke with prefered Black similar to some other
pieces I did.
So feel free to give your input?

Hi Chuck, Hey do you agree

Hi Chuck,
Hey do you agree that asking for input is always a risk, as you may get some smart ass tell you straight he don`t like it at all? That`s me Chuck ! LOL. I hate to say Chuck I like the sculpture, but in my opinion black does not go with it at all. Some pieces look awesome in black others in white, and some in neither way... The concept turns sad, negatively sorrounded by that energy. Nonetheless, if you feel confortable with it that`s what really matters! I like to ask for input too, and love detailed criticism of my work, I feed from it and thrive. Of course I don`t eat everything that`s thrown to me, and this my be the case here too. Best wishes to you. Nelson.

Chuck, My opinion is just

Chuck,

My opinion is just the opposite of Nelson's - I think that piece is much more effective and visually arresting in black with the red accent piece. Far better than the white. I think you made a very wise choice to repaint it.

Thanks

Thanks Guys,
Yeah it's a really weird kind of thing for me I tend to fall in love with a concept.( Bad Chuck) I likes the white.
But here's the thing, hardly anyone else did.
Nelson,
thanks for having the guts to speak your mind I like negative criticism so I can get an understanding of how others feel. (Good or Bad)
Rich,
As hard as it for me to admit, I've got to go with the majority on this one. Black or another color but not white.
Thank you both again for your input, it's greatly appreciated.

Guess it all boils down to

Guess it all boils down to personal opinion and preference. I like it black and white, both equally, but I have different tastes than most folks, and I know it.

I think it looks much better

I think it looks much better Chuck. The change in colour has given the inner piece some real punch.

PS..... I dont think there is any problem in asking advice. Its up to you if you take it. It does you good to expose yourself to criticism.....just dont take it to heart. The benefit of criticism is that it exposes you to different ways of thinking.
