Near Miss

This is what I ended up with, a 3 foot tall kokopelli, He is the spirit dancer of the Sonoran Desert in My Back yard. He's a cross between a Native American and Bob Marley With his Dred Locks But non the less. I managed to salvage him from another peice I did. Which did not turn out well at all. I tried to use patina for the first time and blew it. So this this was a way to bail out of the problem.

I'm glad you liked it. After my foul up this weekend all I could handle were modified Stick Fiqures. He is a lively fellow and always seems to be in a good mood.

Hi Chucky,
I think this piece works great, like the shape and the overall feel. Is it made from copper and steel? I have found when doing a patina finish on copper one very simple method is to use ammonia nitrate (urea fertilizer) mixed with small amount of water, apply with paint brush to warmed material and you end up with a blue /green look in a couple of hours depending on mix. This is for exterior of copper only as chemical reaction is happening, never put in enclosed copper container.

This is an all Mild Steel Fabrication, with the exception of the ball Bearings. I had a Major problem with the Patina from another other peice. So, I used good old Gloss Black Spray Paint for this Job.
