silver

thats what you get with so much sterling. shiny indeed.

I felt cind a down when i designed it. realy chaotic. you know the feeling when you got to many thoughts spinning through your head.

the shape haze been hamered and chased out of two halfs of of 1.2 mm sheet sterling silver. its about 20 cm high.
I firt hamered& solderd the hole head and then sawn it to pieces. after that I closed some of the bloks and fixed the hinges.

in the middle rest a 40mm round rock cristal witch can be moved to a higher level when opend couse its louse.

maybe in the end it turned out to be just a box for a christal ball(maybe I need to look for a psychic who's looking for a relic. might be a good market ;)

greetz

finel fabrication

now I fabricated all the pieces and made hinges(hinges =moving parts, like a door.don't think i spelled that wright.) from scratch. this pic is made at the forge of my good friend and master willem jonkers III where I dit some overhoures to meet the deadlinge. after that I finished it with pumice stone(bit primetive but it works the best for an even surfice. try it) sandpaper and then policing. later i fixed the wooden stand this piece was one of my exame pieces for fabricating in silversmithing. well I hoped you injoyed the posts of the workinprogres pics bill & the others. if you have anny qeustions or comnts i'd love to hear them. good night to you all, ambitionfinel fabrication: now I fabricated all the pieces and made hinges(hinges =moving parts, like a door.don't think i spelled that wright.) from scratch. this pic is made at the forge of my good friend and master willem jonkers III where I dit some overhoures to meet the deadlinge. after that I finished it with pumice stone(bit primetive but it works the best for an even surfice. try it) sandpaper and then policing. later i fixed the wooden stand this piece was one of my exame pieces for fabricating in silversmithing. well I hoped you injoyed the posts of the workinprogres pics bill & the others. if you have anny qeustions or comnts i'd love to hear them. good night to you all, ambition

jo
thanks for all the reply´s

now I whas wondering if you guys could help me with something.
i´m not real sure about the title yet and i was hopping for some sugestions. `inner deamon` has abit to much of a fantisie theme to it.
if youve got ANNY ideas please post them and Ill conssider it.

may the forge be with you, ambition

"from the four ellements water, wind, earth and fire mankind stole only one from the gods.

fire

and with whe forged our will upon this world"

for your consideration

"Hammacher Schlemmer" is a now defunct up scale department store. Famous during their day for over the top decadence.
What comes to mind is the phrase from a folk song with the words just slightly changed " Well let me tell you of this sculpture, my good friend. It'll make your poor eyes pop. It's Sterling silver round and round, with a real crystal ball on top." "Hammecher Schlemmer" would have sold such a sculpture. Could greed or decadence be the inner demon? or
"Soccer Mom" Cause she's screaming "Ok ladies circle up those mini vans!" I met her once, scared me.
Flour, oatmeal, brown sugar and vanilla are the four ingredients to oatmeal cookies. Without fire they are goo. After fire, gone. All in fun anneal often Brad

wow complicated one. what is

wow
complicated one. what is the title of the original folk song b.j.?
Hammacher Schlemmer has a bit of a german tune to it. maybe its because i'm on the other side of the world but it doesn't ring a bell. thanks anyway. think ill google the lyrics.

Old tune

" A Dying Business" by Chad Mitchel Trio. As I remember it the Hammacher Schlemmer reference was a spoken introduction. Went some thing like this
"Hammacher Schlemmer was selling a shelter
worthy of Kubla Khan's dome.
It was posh and swanky with no hanky panky
the kind an affluent Yankee could really call home."
Actually nameing your piece brings questions to mind.
Which inner deamon? what is it screaming. Why sterling?
How does it shape relate to what it contains. What goes into those other compartments?
on a similiar thought: In stainless and much larger this might make an excellent backyard grill. I must be getting hungry. All in fun. I do appreciate your efforts and your craftsmanship. Bravo well done. hammer on something Brad

silver dream

like i said, my thoughts where quite dark at the time I designd this.
thoughts and the way our mind proceses them where the general theme. being in conflict with youre own thoughts. people can look quite at peace and hole from the outside but what goes on inside remains unseen.
maybe its just a feeling I try to expres but can't find the words for.

other titles that came to mind where

The enlightment of a cristal clear mind - as in to look for ballance in clear thoughts instead of inner conflict

and "its all in your head" - maybe there realy is no spoon, nothing out there, only thoughts, in here. perseption is everything.

inner deamon stands for a combination of the two I think

sleep well, ambition

fire

and with whe forged our will upon this world"

in a word

In a word the thought process you are describing is a process called sublimation. Perhaps the minds best defence mechanism. check out sublimation on "changing minds .org." And according to one source your art may be the best way to work them through. interesting stuff, make art drive other people crazy. Anneal often Brad
