Thanks Janet. After seeing

Thanks Janet.
After seeing your original dragonfly railing concept I have been plotting ways to put glass in mine. I have been experimenting with leadlight, but it is a HUGE amount of work. When I do the large version I am thinking of covering the whole of each wing with a sheet of irridescent glass. The plan is to have it about 12' above the ground, so the steelwork veining on the wing would be seen through the glass.

BTW, your panels are looking great. Cant wait to see them in place.

I usually don't like

I usually don't like dragonflies that people make. They always seem to lose the lightness of dragonflies. Your's have a light look and I admire that way you accomplished this in metal.

WOW, they are great. I like

WOW, they are great. I like this sort of stuff anyway but they are really cool. How big are they. Can you give us more pictures, I would like to see the base and more detail of the flies themselves. Where did you install they. The wings are always so hard to make without looking like made up wings, they are my favorite.
Thanks, Mele

Thanks Mele Unfortunately I

Thanks Mele

Unfortunately I dont have any more pictures at the moment. I was in a rush to get them installed before the local Autum harvest festival so I just took a couple of quick snaps.
The overall dimensions are about 13' wide and 10' tall. The 2 dragonflies have wingspans of 5' and 6'.
They were originally put on an island in the middle of a pond, but the owners have since moved them to the waters edge. The property is an orchard that is planning on opening a cidery and restaurant in the near future....nice people.
I'll try and get a few extra snaps next time I go past.

cheers

Peter
