Paula I`m enjoying those close-ups of your patio chair even more than the beautyfull patio chair itself. Lovely, charming leaves, the nut, canes. I may have missed something, are the leaves patinated copper or steel. Please tell me, tell us how you got those great colors. Hey, these colors beat my finger painting bad! Lovely. Nelson.

And finger painting is what it is...sort of... where you see blues, green and red, it is permanent marker. i used my finger to blend the colors. some of the leaves are bronze, so no color needed.
Thanks for all of your nice comments

Paula,
Your work is full of surprises. I'm always happy to see your forms and those great textures. The chair is great, I really enjoy the detail shots. I have a set of fifty permanent markers because of you...hmmm Brad

I'll confess to not haveing a clue to about the meltonian solution. The meltdownagain approach I'm familiar with. Are you waxing poetic? Enlighten us, please. Brad

Well Brad I second

Well Brad I second that, completely ignore that tecnique. Gene English please,no comprende nothing man! Got to google that Brad. Hey, I have a great time trying out some real loco stuff.Surprisingly, and I don`t mean to brag about that,I`ve been browsing constantly about art and sculpture for about 5 years, and some seemingly crazy stuff that works great, I have not yet see it in internet. So I would encourage you to dare try any technique crossing your mind.In regards to that, I believe that as artists, we discover new ways, we don`t create anything, just come across new forms of language.Changing, switching, reinventing, finding, what`s there awaiting the precise time. And it`s wonderful! Speaking of finding new ways,Paula, excuse my ignorance, want to make sure we`re talking about the same stuff: the word markers to me, mean those colors tubes use to write/draw on paper, card board and other media. Is that the type you`re talking about? In regards to my nice comments on your work, I simply truly love your work, some more than others,so please don`t go uh! on that, besides a little respectfull bit of humor won`t hurt I hope. Metal, metal, metal work is nice, but purely metal may be at times too cold, huh! Another loco one for you If you wish to try: I use at times tints on some of my wood work, and a will post some nice tones you can get if you paint metal, and then highlight with wood tints. Sometimes working things backwards give unpredictably nice results, and sometimes you know... Nelson

I really do appreciate everyone's comments on the chair. Some how the expression of my feelings does not translate very well into the written word... but, i do really appreciate everyone's comments.

Yes we are talking about the tube type writing instruments. That is accurate. Just make sure they are permanent. The two brands that I've used are Sharpie and RoseArt metallic permanent markers.

I have tried using wood stains and i do like the results. Although i found that japan dryer needs to be added...or maybe it's me, not patient enough for the stain to dry...yah, that could be it...
