finished the "tomatoes on the vine" repousse. Frame was made from old fence board --> mitered, flame blackened, lightly sanded, glued and then oiled.

Nice tomatoes!

I'm BRAND NEW to repousse - got my pitch out this weekend, struggled just to get it out of the can! I drew a BLANK trying to come up with some simple drawing - I never thought of a vegetable....maybe I'll try a pumpkin tonight - its got a bit of texture in the stem and sides of the pumpkin yet not too much to make me crazy. Thanks for the inspiration! I'm off to read your blog entry on it...

I used pitch almost25 years ago, now I never use it, I used a steel block with a leather sand bag close by to keep copper in shape, I use line chisels and fianlly with my last annealing do I get the metal push out,the key is use lighte hammers ans thicker maetal.

Griffe.

your repousse gets better with each one. I like the frame, patina and the "maters".
It shows when someone enjoys what they do. can't wait to see what you do next.

Besides the nice metalwork, I also like the top down view of the tomatoes that you chose. Good choice, good metalwork and nice framing.
