Nice

This is lovely. Really like the lid and the contrast with the lovely clean lines of the pot and apparent random crumpelled lid. Your work is very inspirational.

Hey Tim,
Yeah that pad thingy takes getting used to huh?
You can silver solder stainless steel but i don't recommend it.The solder will eventually darken and become an eyesore.
I arc weld stainless with a wire feed welder (a Miller 175). I don't recommend this machine either because you need a bit more power ,usually. It suffices for me only because I'm running a very small diameter wire in this (relatively) small machine since most of my stainless pieces do not require the .035 thickness wire that most of my regular (mild) steel fabrications need. Many folks prefer TIG welding stainless but I don't because it requires a bit of pre-heating which the MIG does not. Also the MIG can deposit a lot of material(metal) in a hurry which becomes handy for filling or building up of an area or simply putting down a lot of material on an armature and building a form that way.Another somewhat tricky thing is that you can weld stainless steel DIRECTLY to silicon bronze with the MIG.I have several MIG machines set up for different uses. This keeps me from having to switch over the requisite shielding gases and keeps the liner from getting contaminated which can be a real threat if you weld other metals then try and weld stainless steel with the same gun and liner...
