This is a rather large stainless steel disc vase,(24"diameter) with a true acid patina and forged stainless scroll feet that are patinated as well.
As a child traveling with my family across Greece to many of the archaeological sites, I was very affected by the decorative styles on Crete. The visit to the Palace of Knossos had a profound effect on me. In those days it was not fenced and access was not restricted at all. I spent several days roaming the site drawing and studying the ruins,soaking in the ancient culture and all it's manifestations.
