You have been given life

You have been given life gifts Matt. To be your first chased and raised bowls is amazing my friend! I love the overall functional design and really enjoy the flowing lines creating the birds heads. Amazing work! Especially for a first in craft.

Matt, What a delight to see

Matt,

What a delight to see the images of your bowl and the chased birds. Great composition on the panels and I like the overall piece with stand. Keep making and posting.

Thanks guys. I had done some

Thanks guys. I had done some chasing and repousse before, mostly faces. A funny sidenote; Kat, my teacher then and future wife, came in while I was working on one of the faces, asked to see it , she laughed and asked, "Do you even know what that's called?" I said " no it just seemed like a good way to make the faces I first asked you about". She went on to define and teach me chasing and repouse. I was already in love with the technique just din't know what to call it.
Oh,I use the red german pitch. I switched after having a pot of old black pitch catch fire and spill all over my hand. the red is a lot safer and less flamable.

Reminiscent of something Mayan ? (I think)

Lovely work, Matt. I really like this.
