I must agree with Rich, I try to use decorative fasteners as much as I can. It's the little details that count!! Nice bolts Adrian. "GRIZZ" » reply Details, Details

You are absolutely correct. The details is what counts. I used to work with a welder in a repair setting. We mostly did repair work for farmers and he was on the road a good bit. (Doing the repair to the farm machinery in the field where it broke down.) Once he was doing some fab work in the shop and we were talking. He was telling me how he got done with the main welding on a job in the field and when others would have said 'that's enough' he grabbed a grinder and started rounding off the corners. This impressed the farmer so much, he wouldn't have anyone else come out to do his work. Bo is a good welder and a man who cares about what he does. That makes the difference. I agree with Rich, Not enough smiths take the time with the details. I try as hard as I can to work in decorative fasteners as much as possible. "GRIZZ" » reply |

I'd like to see more smiths
I'd like to see more smiths do this, Adrian. It always seems such a shame to see a nicely made piece fastened up with tacky hardware-store fasteners. I always try to provide custom fasteners with the pieces I make that need them; I think it gives the job a "completeness" that is otherwise lacking. Thanks for posting those!
