sculpture forged fabricated architectural ![]() Hey guys-had a minute so II thought I'd throw a couple recent jobs up. Can't figure how to do multiple images so guess I'll be double postin'. Both pieces are for the same client. Tres' cool to get to do this kind of fun stuff. Wow! Love the piece Nathan.

Wow! Love the piece Nathan. I like all of the dynamic motion and, again, great use of color. Is it paint or powder coat? The rail looks great as well, are those cables or rods? Was it difficult to achieve the random look of each panel? I find that it's almost more difficult to try to make many panels look random then to have a set plan. I always seem to fall into a rhythm after 4 or 5 panels and start creating the same "random" pattern on all of them. Nice use of a lot of different shapes. hey guys- thanks for all the kind remarks. I'll see if I can remember the questions. Adrian- the material is 1/4x2 flat bar that I bent and forged concave according to the opposite way it needed to move i.e. up or down. Don't know if that makes sense! Jake, on that note I made a spring fuller to do job and put in on my- you guessed it, treadle hammer. Trust me your are going to love that brilliant little piece of equipment soooo much !!!!! As to the finish I went kinda crazy. I got the piece blasted then I painted it twice with a moisture curing paint used for undercoating trucks and heavy equipment. After that it has six coats of a GM paint with pearl in it and then six coats of Permalac. » reply NIce curves

Nathan, absolutely lovely
Nathan, absolutely lovely sculpture, the red is stunning.
What is the material used. Is it stock flat bar or have you fullered the bars as they curve? what sort of height is it?
The piece really stands out and also compliments the surroundings, a sort of celebratory dance for its environment.
Excellent work.
