Table

This is my current project. A table for a livingroom. To a dedicated hardrocker. Hopefully two of the corners should be able to slide under the rest of the tableplate, looks like it's a little over my head at this point.
Anyhow, I need help with the finishing. I was thinking I could black oxide, do think it would look nice?

Thanks, yes the mechanics just got ridiculous complicated. Especially since I just had a ten year old 2d auto cad to make the drawings I needed. There is also gas feathers inside the mechanism at a very ineffective angle forcing them to have very high pressure (50kg, two at each plate). The assembly nearly took the life out of me so the planed test assembly became final assembly.
Think I have to put more appearance and less function in my projects!
