story of our wedding

This is the story behind the wedding pic - which I just put up as a test while I was running through instructions on setting up a blog or image for Marilyn, but since you asked...

 just married

We were legally married in 2001 in the magistrate's office, Murphy NC,  and wanted to also do something personal and relevant to us to mark the day so....

 Tim reading @ wedding
we made up our own ceremony, we exchanged vows & wedding bands in our friend's private blacksmithing museum

Elmer forgingand then used his smithy to do a ceremonial forging.

Together we made a 5" steel ring to link two other rings that we had made separately before 'the big day'forge welding together

we alternated heats to shape the ring and then did alternate blows for the actual forge weld.

displaying the ringsI could not have wished for a more meaningful or fun wedding ceremony.  It was a fabulous day!

What a wonderful way to join the links of marriage! Beautiful people, beautiful place, and a beautiful ceremony.

Question. Where is the forge located? Wow, and the anvil... that's a real beauty. Lots of beautiful stuff! Thanks for sharing a blacksmiths wedding Lynda!
