I love the argentium alloy.

I love the argentium alloy. I love the anti-firescale property the best. I usually use liver of sulfur to darken the silver and I find that it works just fine. I love not having to spray the whole piece with Prips to prevent firescale. Thanks for the compliments!

Very beautiful piece Susan!

Very beautiful piece Susan! I love the opposition between the cuff part which looks very stylized and urban, and the leaves ornaments with their organic and tribal feel. Great work!

I am experimenting the fold forming technique with some aluminium sheet right now, but the hardware store had it only in a very thin gauge. I will need to order something thicker to practice with, and I was wondering if you could tell me which gauge you used for your leaves?

The leaves were made with 22

The leaves were made with 22 guage. I have used 24 guage to make leaf earrings. You could use NuGold, which is a red brass, to work up the samples. I find it acts similar to silver in its plasticity.

Thanks,

Thank you for sharing this

Thank you for sharing this info Susan. You are right about the brass being close to silver. It is also what I tell my students when they want to purchase practice wire. Copper is a little too soft, more like fine silver.
