sorry it took me so long to get back, i havent been on in a while. to answer your question, i heat and quench my piece, fold it, put it in a vice leaving a pillow of sorts, then i just start hammering away. i then take out, reheat and quench then unfold. i do this process as many times as it takes to get the texture i like. » reply Shannon- I really love this

thank you so much, its always nice to get compliments from fellow artisans. im really enjoying fold forming and im big on organic fluid lines. i havent done anything in a bit, im 3 months pregnant living in florida and my workshop is just to damn hot for a preggy right now, so im hopeing to move my part of our workshop in the house where it is a little cooler so i can get some stuff done, i know, whaaa!anyway, thanks again » reply |

I love the look of this piece! do you get the folded look by moving the metal when its hot? (that might be a stupid question- sorry i'm kinda new to metalsmithing)
