Do the glass fronds pop up when you open the case???

David Barnhill's picture

fronds

Hello Janet,

The frond lenses are meant to look as if they are bending out and searching. They do not actually bend by themselves or possess any movement on their own- they must be posed. I had played with the idea of having them search out and peer at unusual oddities within their environments. I took them out of the box and carried them off into the woods. I set them up in varying patterns in different landscapes- water, rock, etc,... and took pictures of them. The pictures however did not compare to my expectations and I am going to try and capture this feeling of searching through other means-... intaglio printmaking.

Thank you for the inquiry. Sincerely, David Barnhill
