The piece is beautiful. How were you able to get such small areas of color with heat? Or is the color from a patina?

abstract eye question

Thanks Jake. The color-tempering- is underneath targeted areas of texture.

nice piece, Jeff. and by

nice piece, Jeff.

and by "underneath"......can I assume that translates to You added the "temper colors" first and then added the hammered texture?
Do you clear coat the steel to preserve the colors, and if so....what do you use?

abstrct eye questions

Yes, Bill, on all of my projects i use tempering as a primary method of adding color to metal. Tempering was a step in the process with this project but not first. I apply layers of texture to all projects to give dimension and depth. The texturizing processes are the result of hand and power tools. On this piece i used both but no hammering. I use a variety of agents to preserve metal. On this piece i used acrylic.
