textured, tempered copper

Love your play on color. I

Love your play on color. I really enjoy copper. Thought about doing projects with it like making jewelry. So I have a question for you? Do you find that it is harder to sell this wonderful metal to jewelry enthusiasts because of it turning colors against one's skin? Or perhaps it doesn't matter because it's so easy to clean? I know that copper can be beneficial to those who suffer from arthritis. The metal would then have to be uncoated. Does soldering the copper help prevent tarnishing? Seahlieh

copper jewelry questions

I sell a lot of copper jewelry. Most, if not all, of my projects are coated to prevent the patina process.

thanks, Jeff.

thanks, Jeff.
What name brand? I've tried a number of clear acrylics in the past and all the ones I've tried seemed to "KILL" the beautiful blues, greens and reds. AND if they didn't totally "kill" them........they altered them to the point that they just aren't as nice.

Was it a water or solvent based?

The "temper colors" are one of the coolest of "patinas".
The BLUES on your piece are stunning.
thanks again....;)

coating question

I have experienced the same problems Bill. Over time i began to formulate my own acrylic clear coating using water based products such as Sherwin Williams Hydro Gloss as a primary ingredient. I include trace amounts of other agents depending on the size of the project and metal. A sray gun is used to apply.
