The use of negative space is good. If you like texture, an old hammer with grooves cut into the face will make an excellent random pattern. The sheet metal may be hammer patterned before cutting out the design or the item itself may be carefully hammered afterwards. marilyn » reply This is a nice piece

This is a nice piece Jesus. Brass and copper compliment each other well. The cross is well porportioned and nicely finished. It also has a nice flow and contours. What processes did you use and why? What is your next project idea? Where would you like to go with metal working? Thanks for sharing your work. This is a very nicely proprtioned piece. Has a nice sense of flow to it. As Marilyn said, it's an interesting use of negative space- using two metals, your piece actually has three colors ;-) Can't wait to see what you do once you actually understand what you're doing ;-) » reply Beautiful...congradulations!

The shape reminds me of a fleur de lys or some other old shape out of European heraldic symbols - the family crests and such, I like the plain-ness of the negative cross inside and the fanciness of the exterior cross, great balance of metal area and negative space too. Looking forward to more,

Re: Jesus' Cross
Very detailed sawing work! I wonder if etching could be used to create an unusual surface texture? Perhaps masking areas before polishing. I'd like to see another one.
