What I think I am seeing here is a doubled 3D image before putting on the 3D glasses. Simple lathing technique with point source light and cast shadows. The transparency comes apparently from the 3D algorhythm. I have used Generic Cadd, VersaCadd, MicroStation, Modeler, Maya, Chrystal 3D, Lumina and Z-Brush over the past 25 years. Each has a mass of menus that must be learned, but suffice to say, computer art is similar to CADD in that it is based on "Draw Once, Copy Many" as a way of working. This means that every thought or image must be "chunked", or broken down into bite-sized pieces and then rotated or copied or stretched into what you are imagining. After a short while, you may find you are one of those who are a "natural". I hope that is your case. Nic East, Jim Thorpe, PA USA » reply |
