Nice Study

Rene' you have really been busy with the hammer. Nice shape to the vessels. I really like the way the brass one flows.

Brass vessel

Hello Warren,

Thanks.
Yes I like that piece as well. Originally I was drawing the half of two different vessels on piece of paper. And I couldn´t decide. I was showing it to somebody and he said very nice piece. I answered "But which one ?" and he said there is just one and that´s good. It´s oval as well though I wanted to do something you can´t do with the metal spinning machine.
It´s made from a 90mm in diametre brass tube

Thanks Fred

Hello Fred,

though we share same interests I thought you could like those pieces.
I spent 3 months on a metal design school in Germany.
Amazing workshops for gold-,silver- and metalsmithing. And because it was all together....if you were missing a stake (which was hard because there were hundreds) you just went to the metalsmithing workshop and forged what you needed.
I enjoyed it a lot.
As well I made that wall candle holder which I posted. Very simple but nice piece because of the reflections of the gold leaf it lightens a small room. The original I forged from a solid piece of steel....sort of a big spoon and a copper disc where I added gold leafs. I didn´t want to solder, etc. ....so the disc it´s hold just by the tension of the steel. I did other ones here in Buenos Aires but of copper though my neighbour already gets annoyed by my non-ferrous workshop.:)

Greetings
René
