folk art table

Hi Wild Bill, I would love to see a closer picture of the top of the table. It looks like it has great texture and color. My only criticism would be the very straight, modern legs. I would like it even more if it had some movement in the legs, more on the lines of the folk art plant stand. Lin

Different people, different view

Hi Bill,
I like the modern edge...but would love to see a better picture of the top...Is there glass insets or is that a patina coloration....looks interesting..can we get a better peak!

Thanks for the comment. And yes, you are correct in seeing the mismatch in styles. But the two where married about 2 years ago, and for the most part, forgotten. I pulled out the table last week to take a snapshot of it to show the top. It's made of an 1/8" sheet of mild steel. The pattern was cut by hand, the parts were separated, and the top is finished in three tones. The mill scale, ground and sanded, and oxidized, then the top was sealed.
The table is currently in my pile of things to modify. But I have yet to form a plan of attack. I like the idea of the top being a coffee table under glass, but what ever a poor busy guy can do..
