Hey Wild Bill, simple but nice. Looks like something that would be good for art shows that wouldn't be too expensive or take too long to make. Lin

It's uncanny how you can read my mind Lin. This is one of my simple craft items that I'm putting in an upcoming crafts market. I think $30 each is about right. It's really easy to apply different patterns of weld beading to make sets or a series. You can check out more like this or other types on my myspace page posted on my profile.
Thanks for the complement.

That sounds like a good price, but it is hard to know in this market. I ran the sales booth for a carriage show a couple weeks ago and sold about half of what I sold last year (of my own pieces). The pieces that sold the best were around $20.00, I'm not sure they were worth the time they took, but next to no costs for materials. There was resistance to the $40.00 items, but they did all sell. Everyone loved my large and expensive pieces, but no sales. When you show the candle holders, do you cover the spikes? I always worry about someone doing something stupid and getting cut. Lin

Thanks for the price tip. This is my first attempt at the market, and I have no idea what I'm doing. $30/per gives me an acceptable return on my time and materials. I want a little more of course, but in this economy, I know people aren't spending. The market is held in "old town" main street Park City, and the locals who vend there have told me that this is what they work up for all year. So we'll see.
I'm also starting with a variety of small items, and trying not to over producing anything. Or, under produce the items that could sell.
Thanks for the tip on the big items also. I've been told keep it small and under $20. So I figure I'll know where I stand on the first day. I was approved for 10 Sundays. So I'm expecting gain my legs the first day, and from there, adjust my prices and products.
We plan on ordering corks, like for wine bottles, to cover the points, then offering to rap them in bubble rap. We will sell and display some holders with the candles, and I also have concerns if people are handling the displays. I guess I could make a large sign waring people that everything there comes with points and to handle with care.

I think your prices sound fine. The carriage show I did was small this year due to the economy but I still sold enough that I was happy. I really didn't expect to sell the large pieces, but wanted the exposure. It also lends credibility to my work, making the small pieces more special. Park City should be a super location, both tourists and locals. Doing 10 Sundays, if someone doesn't buy the 1st time, you might get them back. Lin
