Its slow good...

Hi Paula,
Your chair looks like it was actually made from tree parts. I like that. A fine piece indeed.
Frank
P.S. Are you still going to make that bird?

Paula's picture

yes

As far as i know..... i've got one other job ahead of the eagle one. Also, Larry (hubby) is going in for a hip replacement the end of this month, so we're in the process of gearing up... down... for that .... depending on your perspective. But..long enough reply... i believe yes is the answer..

Really great work Paula, you

Really great work Paula, you seem to have a real knack for being able to make steel look like actual plants and tree branches you'd see lying around outside. I like the coloring on the leaves a lot. Will this be getting a clear coat of some sort?

Jake

Paula's picture

yes

Thanks Jake! Guess i like plant life.. glad it shows... the clear coat is polyurethane..but once i know that its completely cured i'll put EverBrite Protective coating on it. They say it is very durable against the elements..

Paula, That is a gorgeous

Paula,

That is a gorgeous chair! Sure looks like a lot of work. Is it for you, or someone else?

Beautiful......

Paula,
Your chair is beautiful, the only thing is the slope of the back looks alittle steep. It might be the photo. I've made alot of chairs and they are problematic as far as being artistic and building for comfort. There is an ergonamic formula. have you made any chairs before???
Anyway, it's gorgeous! Let's see more! Janet R.

:/

The only 'seating' that i've made before are bar stools... so.. no i guess i've never made seating like this before. I used one of our plastic patio chairs as a model. Used the same measurements as well as the slope for the back rest. It probably is a bit much... i think its comfy, but, having some 'short' friends try it out...they said it felt like a bit much... live and learn i guess.

Congrats on your exhibition. If your able to get some photos of your work on display, please post them. It's always nice to be able to see your hard work in a show. The bloomington art center looks like it carries some really nice work.

Thanks

It was a complete surprise when I got the invite. Most people say...."Paula who?" so it was a complete honor to be asked. Had never been to the Bloomington Art Center until dropping off the items for the show.... They do have some VERY nice stuff there.... just made me feel even more honored that they asked.

Great job!

Paula,

Congratulations on the chair and the invite to the show. The exposure will be good and it is a shame that you cannot go. It is wonderful to be able to listen in and observe the impression other have of your work.

The botanical theme is very desirable and will appeal to wide audience. Keep up the great work and best of luck to you at the show. May you get many commissions.
