Sunflower Commission Almost Complete

Hi Everyone + Happy New Year!!!
Hope we all have a creative ,productive and profitable 2008! Just finishing up this commission , a magazine rack with a cast glass sunflower on top and another 5ft.
shelving unit.
I started my big commission over the holiday....it's going okay. Had to bend a section of railing on the outside of a porch area. Alittle tricky. Did it by putting the whole section of five stairs in the Hossfeld bender. I do have a question to put out ther. maybe it's a little embarrassing for me. I always manage to complete my stairway railings and they always work out. But..... is there a formula for finding the angle ofthe railing by measuring the nosea of the top stair . I know there is a technique. Anyone know it orany books that might help me??? Janet R.

here's a "short and sweet" method for getting accurate "Pitch" for doing stairs. I have two other pix that show "MORE detail" that I could also post if anyone in interested.
because most stairs "vary", many projects need a separate PS(pitch stick) for each run.

Thanks for the diagrams, I have to turn on my other computer and print them out so I can read them. Appreciate it.I always manage to get them done but I thought if I have a set method of measuring it might be better!!!More PROFESSIONAL! janet
