Blacksmithing

It's nice to get to do something simple for a change. I don't get to do stuff like this very much and so I really enjoy it when I can. It's a gift for a friend restoring a old house.

Gerald- You have lucky

Gerald-
You have lucky friends. I can imaging a fire behind them right now. I'm sure they will appreciate these, and think of you every time they have a fire. As far as I am concerned, that is one of the best payments one can get. What are the hooks for on the front?

Skewer holders

Thank you. The funny part is my friend will never have a fire, so they'll never get used. Still she was very happy with them and they do look good in her fireplace.

I actually don't know for sure, but I understand the purpose was for roasting. They're called spit racks and I made a decorative skewer to rest on them

Fire or no, I'm sure they

Fire or no, I'm sure they look great. So, you are a contra dancer? Do you ever go to Glen Echo? My wife (a caller) and I have been dancing for years.

Glen Echo

I'm still a newbie, about three years. Very grateful to the woman that dragged me to my first contra.

I think about going to Glen Echo from time to time. Some of the Charlottesville crowd are always car-pooling up there. I've been working on my waltzing* and as soon as it's a bit better, I'll be joining the car-pool. Has your wife ever called at Greenwood?

*Gaye Fifer host a regular waltz class and I'm ready for the intermediate next time it happens :-)
