Garden Bench

Garden Bench

Just finished this bench/ Daybed, and finally got some pics of it. I am doing a few summer shows and am trying to get a few bespoke benches and tables made with a view to taking orders off them.
The rings are hot bent with a bar mounted centrally within the ring to allow the wood to be attached as I wanted to give the feeling that the wood is floating. The feet are 3 inch solid balls attached to flat discs to stop the whole thing rolling. The wood is half inch by 3 inch oak (the most expensive part of the bench actually!!) The rings are galvanized and sprayed with a high build vinyl.

I wondered why there was no back on the bench so I'm glad that you mentioned that it is a also a daybed. However, even though it's a daybed, wouldn't it be handy to have a back to prop the pillows against so it passes as a couch as well?

Bench

Hey, Cool bench. It turned out nice. Are the feet of the bench pinned into the stone? Or, do they just sit atop them?
