Rebar Burner

Hi Lin,
Thank you very much.I fantasize making a whole horse in that scale. Around two bales of rebar a day,eh?

That's great Frank, his mane

That's great Frank, his mane is very lively! I would love to see him from the front also. What is he going to do or is he just for you? I wish I could come to your shop some day.

Upfront...sort of

Hi Mele,
Here's the best shot I have at the moment. I plan to have the Horse head as public art in the City of Munising in a proposed pocketpark in front of Munising High school. The school team name is Mustangs.

Lovely

Its beautiful Frank, lovely movement and a really gentle look. I used to ridea lot when I was younger, the gentle face brought back some lovely memories of my horse. They are truly majestic creatures. Shame you cant make the rest of him.

Michelle

Thanks

Hi Michelle,
Thank you. I'm touched that good memories were invoked.

Making a complete horse would be a dream come true, literally.Who knows, right?

I hit the mane with my gloved hand and the whole thing made a tone so low my pants vibrated. As you well know, different scale brings unexpected challenges, discoveries and opportunities. I like that.

The horse has shaped up beautifully....is it finished??? I would love to see some solid pieces intermingled in the mix....What's your end plan for it?

Horses truly are amazing creatures, love riding and miss it...SteelyJan

This really is a great

This really is a great piece, Frank. It really caught my eye as I was looking through. I agree with SJ- horses are amazing creatures. Having worked with them for 30+ years I am still capitivated and inspired by their movement.

Time Stops

Hi Rob,
Thank you.Every time I see a horse now, I have to drop everything and just gaze. Beethoven's Pastoral gets played quite a bit while I'm working on this one. Time stops.

There's Glass In My Future

Hi SteelyJan,
Thanks. You know, that's a fascinating concept.I love how you work glass into pieces. Its uncharted territory for me.

I'm almost done with the horse.Today I worked on his forelock (I think that's what its called)I also need to put in some discrete bracing here and there. I'm still scratching my head when it comes to the pedestal. I'm showing it in a few weeks at a home show, so I made some (removable) training wheels to get it around.

I WILL use glass in a future piece!

Child Proof . . .

Hi Jake,
Thank you,Jake. Its visually complete, but I need to put all these little structural thingies in without screwing up the overall appearance.I can't have anything that a strong person good grab and distort. There are three foot runs of 1/2" rebar. I have to stiffen them. The forelocks were placed to act as bracing for the mane and head, that blended in well.Today looks perfect for the task, tally ho . .
