Looking forward to watching this develop. What size is it ?

We went through several ways of framing the shape and finally went for this method. Talk about ri-inventing the wheel. Michelle finally got the hang of it with the head, shame its not really going to be visible from the ground. Your frame looks much tidier than ours! Keep it posted.

Michelle and Andy

No Skin

Hi Michelle and Andy,
Thank you. The horse head/neck is around five feet tall. With the mane, the dimension should grow to well over six feet.I decided to limit this sculpture to the head only as the grant being written for its purchase wouldn't cover the cost of a full horse body.

I will be incorporating the pedestal into the sculpture bringing the total height to a bit over ten feet.

Your beautiful "Solstice" has an exoskeleton. This horse head will rely on the the framework for visualization, so I must be conscientious about spacing and orientation.
Peace,eh
Frank

The Head looks good Frank.

The Head looks good Frank. Really graceful lines. Did you win a grant for this project?

Grant

Hi Jake,
Thanks. Someone else is taking the responsibility for writing the grant. Chances for winning are extremely good in this particular instance.I already had this project started before any mention of a grant though.Tangible evidence helps since my public art portfolio is slim.
Peace,eh

Horse Head Progress

With the pleasant warm weather here in da UP, I've been able to continue work on the Horse Head sculpture. I can't pick it up any more.I think I need to make the pedestal next, before adding on any more weight.
