Hi Frank, First I thought

Hi Frank,
First I thought that nice looking sort of log cabin was your house. It turned out to be your shop! Well what can I say about this beautiful home sweet home. I AM JEALOUS ! What a setting, enjoy it... Nelson.

Let it snow

Hi Nelson,
We've gotten over fifty inches of snow so far! It got cold enough to fire up the cook stove so I made hash browns this morning on it YUM.

DAMN!....I'm also jealous! I was supposed to be in Michigan next week visiting friends but am instead still stuck in Oz applying for art commissions so I have an income next year. Its not too hot yet but I can taste a searing hot summer comming on the eastery wind.

SIGH!....I'll have to wait till next year for my first white xmas.

Rocket landed here...

Hi Paula,
Got married in Detroit , drove "Ward", a school bus with the seats removed,to Munising. Bought land and parked the bus there. The winter was very much like this one.Sue, now pregnant, and I lived in that unheated bus until the end of October.Moved to one insulated room in the roughed in house.Raised three children here in the forest.Thank you God.
Peace,eh?

Very cool Frank! sounds

Very cool Frank! sounds like a great life so far!

we have a small 10 ac with not enough trees. built our house with our 3 kids in mind...big and roomy...when we moved in, we had all american concrete floors, no doors, no insulation, and wiring hanging from the rafters. that was 17 years ago. Did all the work ourselves.... we finished the house last year, and of course the kids are all grown up and moved away....the house has gotten too big for jus two people....wanted to put it on the market last year and move up to Grand Marais....then the housing market when ca-poot...so here we sit....dreaming of our little cabin in the woods.....just like your place.....

Hi Chuck,
I'll bet they were some good years.
We've been here since '76, grew up in Detroit.
You can take Frank out of Detroit, but you can't take Detroit out of Frank.
Peace,eh?

Beautiful place and

Beautiful place and beautiful photo Frank! Interesting reading about how several folks here have spent a major portion of their life making a homestead.

I too spent a good 20 years building and adding to my home/studio. I look back and see just how much effort I put into making my home. Now, I'm considering selling it all or portions of it because what once was so important, no longer seems to be the case.

Interesting how we go through life using the precious time to create our realities. Then one day, you wake up, and everything has changed.

Thanks for sharing!

Where your treasures lie...

Hi QuiQue,
Discovering and creating make life flow with dreamy pleasure, but love is truly the essence of our purpose. Resetting our course is constantly necessary.
