Hi Jamie

Hi Jamie,
Thank you very much. It probably took around twenty hours to cut out, shape and attach the feathers.I don't keep track of time on projects.

STUNNING!I am sooo impressed with your birds. They just keep getting better with each iteration. This eagle looks very large. What are the dimensions?

Thank You

Hi QuiQue,
Thank you for your compliment. This sculpture is around thirty inches long.

That is an absolutely stunning eagle, very very impressive. Will it be coloured or will it be clear lacquered? I think it would be nice to galv then mordant wash and buff the high lights and clear lacquer. It gives the look of polished steel imho. Great work

Color

Hi Adrian,
Thank you for the encouraging compliment.I am thinking of having the sculpture galvanized, and then trying to color the beak with wax. Both process are new territory for me. I don't know what mordant wash is.

Frank- Once again you have

Frank-
Once again you have brought a smile in appreciation and a laugh in amazement to me with your work. I thank you for that. Just about every day now when I walk with my dogs I think of you and your work when we see hawks and eagles and owls. At least for me (and I am certain for many others here) you have achieved what art is supposed to do- give people a better appreciation of their daily life. Many thanks!

Feather City

Frank,
Hey your eagle really came out great. The thing looks massive. Great feathers and contour of the head. So did you keep saying over to yourself.............only XX more &*^%*^$%* feathers to do.

Lotsa Feathers

Hi Warren,
Thanks. After the first sixty or so feathers, I barely went around the bottom twice. This was a bit alarming.I utilized an old home-made brake to bend the feathers, and that really sped up matters.I used up a whole sheet of steel.Honestly, I never got tired of doing this piece though. It really was medicine for my body and soul.

I think you should market

I think you should market your wares, and I would like to suggest setting up your own website to start...galleries want to see online portfolios. Everyone has an audience, and I believe your work will do well! I love the big pieces. It's amazing what one can create. Again I really like this piece that your working on. Good luck with your creations!
