People's Wind Screw proto 1

This is my first prototype. Every strut is equal length, some string tension members. It moves with barely detectable wind with no load.Easily balanced.Actually works better with axis horizontal. Looks delicate, I like that.

Hi Frank! Good to hear from

Hi Frank!
Good to hear from you, kinda 'fraid you'd fallen off the face of the earth. However, I see instead that you have been busy creating away with your wonderful tallent! I like the wind screw! Kind of remains me of old sailing ships coming across the horizon. How about a little info on the construction?

Construction

Hi Rob,
The basic structure is a bunch of icosahedron middle sections, joined to make a cylinder. There is a helical pattern when you make this structure. I attached tetrahedrons to some of the faces. The protruding tetrahedrons were covered with paper to make the five helical wind catchers. I need to refine the shape to make it smoother. I believe that airfoils (wing shapes) could easily be attached instead of just drag moving the thing.I am trying to make this easily to assemble.
