Hi Frank,

I really like your medicine eagle so far. Is this going to be a stand alone or part of a larger piece?

Not Sure

Hi Peggy,
Thank you. To be honest, I'm not sure yet how the complete piece will appear.I'm trying to decide between a head-dress and a bust.No full Eagle, that's for sure.

Eagle beak

The shape and curve of the eagle beak is very particular and actually exhibits some sacred Geometry characteristics. I believe it is a section of a spiral, very different than hawks and other birds of prey when examined closely. It looks to me like you've nailed it Frank...

Curves

Hi Stephan,
Thank you.The Eagle's beak is pure.I made a clay model of the beak and my hands could feel when the shape was right. That only happened to me one other time and it was another Eagle sculpture in clay that time too.

As I studied the anatomy of this wonderful creature's head, I noticed the small brain case. It is probably half the volume of a Raven. The majority of the skull is filled with eye.

I think you'll enjoy the geometry of the Eagle's eye too.The lens is spherical while the back of the eye is shaped like the front of a CRT tube(quite flat). This amazes me.

A study of the skull and talons would be a nice sculpture.
