lookin' good

Lookin' good Frank. How do you go about the front of the wing, do you fold feathers over the front edge so they are over and below as well?

Front Edge

Hi Rick,
Thank you. There will be three additional sets of wing feathers. The last two(one top, one bottom)will be welded at the leading edge. This will leave the smallest area of weldment. I can get to this welded part with a grinder as its right on the edge. Its not perfect, but thats what I did on the last bird and the eye seems to forgive a strategically placed flaw.

Frank- This is looking

Frank-
This is looking wonderful! This is kind of like Christmas (but in a painfully slow way...); the excitement of slowly opening a very wonderful present. This is a great gift you have and are sharing with us. Thanks for being so generous and sharing the step-by-step process that you are using to do this wonderful project!

Ho Ho Ho...

Hi Rob,
Thank you for the encouraging comment, that's a gift to me! I was reluctant to do a real time step by step series as I'm intimidated by the fact that I could easily fall on my face by ending up with a lousy sculpture(that's still a real possibility). Then I realized that even with the mistakes (and there's plenty), the outcome of sharing goes light years beyond the tangible object.
So thank you, Rob, and everyone else who has responded with encouragement and questions. The fact is, I'm following the example that Janet and others have already given in this group.
