WOW!

Hi Frank,
Well, I think you totally accomplished what was needed for the talons.Your bird (of prey) has amazing strength and movement. The talons are awesome! Congratulations!!! Janet R.

Should have listened to your advice.

Hi Paula,
My first attempt at making the feet by laminating several spoon handles together was a failure. Then I used heat to shape a thicker knife handle. That worked well. Thanks for the tip.

Frank, So whwere will this

Frank,
So whwere will this awsome bird land. Will you keep it for yourself? It is really anicredible job!
Mele

Frank Castiglione's picture

Not Sure

Hi Mele,
This Bird is incomplete, as it still needs eyes and a stand. So I guess he'll hover around a bit longer.
Yesterday I celebrated my 17th anniversary after receiving a bone marrow transplant (the good die young). With this victory comes increasing health challenges. Metal art has been a wonderful therapy providing expression, purpose, release(I love beating the shit out of things),the potential for profit and also a potential to hurt myself .I need to acquire business knowledge and achieve balance.Instead of a one to ten knob, I have an off or ten knob; not good.
Sorry about running on, but its more complicated than" shall I sell this, and how much should I charge" No matter what stage we are as artists, we have so much more to learn. I think thats the best part.
Peace,eh?

Your eagle is looking great

Your eagle is looking great Frank! Seems there is more going on than technique in your life. I'm impressed that you are using your creativity to heal your body and your spirit. There are few that realize just how much the creative process really helps us stay centered and healthy.

May the Creator bless all of you Frank!

Congratulations on your

Congratulations on your anniversary and for taking advantage of the "gift". Your therapy has produced some wonderful results. I had problems with the "all or none" attitude towards my work as well. I really have to work at focusing on all aspects of my life a little more evenly and pacing myself(I still have a ways to go). If you come across any helpful tips to achieve that balance, please pass them on.

The Bird

Frank, great job on the feet. They look perfect for your bird.
Congrats on your milestone. Hope you have many many more anniversaries
I would have a hard time letting go of that bird if I had made it. Some work we put a lot more of our selves into than others.
You really reached out and came up with a beautiful result with your bird. Sometimes for me its kind of depressing to be done with a project. Its the journey, not the destination sometimes.

The Journey

Hi Steve,
Thank you. I sure hope there's lots of anniversaries yet to come too.I'm already in unchartered territory. You sure are correct about the journey.

Balancing Act

Hi Jake,
Thank you.I am grateful for every new day.I sure don't have the balancing act figured out, but realization of a problem is a vital component of the solution.
