going out of town

Money mouthGoing out of town to work on a huge project. Although it's not a metal job; I'm wondering if the ArtMetal family would be interested in me posting some pic's and info on it's progress. The project is an outdorr instalation of some huge still lifes carved out of bricks. We're doing alot of the work inside a brick factory in Ohio.

looks like fun

Man that looks like fun. How are your tools working? How often do you need to dress the edge? How heavy are those towers? Do they get fired somehow?

FUN TIME

The obiliss (towers) are made up of 45lb. wet bricks. They are 6" deep, 12 1/2" wide and 4" tall, specially made for this job. It has inside courses reaching to 10'. It is 4'x4' at the base and reaches 13' when done.
Once built, we shave the surface and start carving, all the time keeping it wet. I hate to brag, but the two of us kick it out in FOUR DAYS. This took a real tole on us mentally and physically the first week. But foutunatly, we hit a good stride on the last one, and now feel better about the direction the pieces are going.
So, after we finish Don Weaver (brick companies enginer) takes it apart and letters and numbers each brick. When we finish all four obiliss, they get fired, boxed individually and shipped to Jerome. The four obiliss and two 8' still lifes get installed in March.
I'ts fun in a sick, dark, artist kind of way. We stay in Sugar Creek, Ohio. It's in Amish territory. The tools are A-1-holding up and making the job go faster. I'm making more, for myself, because I really like this large scale carving and it's dark, sick artistic posibbilities.
