What a beautiful design!

What a beautiful design! I love the use of traditional joinery as part of the overal design for this gate. Truly awesome! This is as good a design as any of the old masters. Kudos to you Lynda!

Hi Lynda: Your design is really different from the usual. The Egyptian or somehow oriental look of it results very appealing to me. Resume saying it should turn even better once you finish it in metal.Beautyfull! Nelson.

Guardian Gates - update, installed pics

I must have not looked at this site during early March when these comments came up, sorry not to get back to y'all - thanks for the appreciation.

This design was one of those that 'just flowed' once I got into drawing it - I made the decision to offer the client visual interest via joinery and also not to have any bars running top to bottom or side to side, except the frame - and yahoo they went for it.  Someone mentioned 'Egyptian' (sorry I can't see all yoru posts when I'm replying) - yes I agree and that follows through to Artdeco too.  I was trying to convey strength and ended up thinking of the 4 top scrolls as 'captains' and the middle gathered pieces as the 'generals'.  We had to do a re-design for the central lock area after the security contractor sent us the lock components - nothing would fit.  Took about 400hrs in all.  We did not enjoy hefting the 2in sq gate posts around - we don't have any lifting eqpt in our shop!

They are beautiful! I really like all the forging and joinery. You should be very proud of the this work.
We met this past weekend in Illinois.
Was good to get to meet you and Elmer.

That is looking good so far,

That is looking good so far, Lynda. You are really putting a strong gate together. I mean strong in the artistic sense.
Really gets to a person.
