What an absolutely terrific

What an absolutely terrific idea! The perfect use for those otherwise-too-small cutoffs from damascus billets and the like. The resulting item is unique and quite exceptional.

This is one of those absolutely outstanding ideas that makes me wonder why *I* couldn't have thought of it. I'm going to take it and file of the serial numbers and use it myself. Larceny as the sincerest form of flattery, right? (grin) I might even try to make up a little mokume' gane' billet from some silicon bronze, copper and brass or some such.

Thanks for sharing this great concept. Your execution is also great. Very impressive!

Rick I would be but honored

Rick I would be but honored if you were to get inspired by one of my creations. Please feel free to make as many as you can but please post photos.
I have been meaning to make some Mokume one day, While I made this damascus I have not ventured into the Mokume world yet. ALthough I did make my pressure plates last year but never found the time to use them.

Thank you, CW. It will

Thank you, CW. It will probably be a minimum of two or three months before I can get around to doing something like this, but I'm really looking forward to it. I showed my wife the picture of them and she was captivated - read, "I want some of those!" (grin) It isn't often she sees something that really grabs her like that and she has exquisite taste so you can be very proud.

I'm thinking maybe a pair with a steampunk motif would be cool, and perhaps a pair of tiny little scissors, too. Fun times ahead!

As many times as I have been

As many times as I have been inspired by your advice and tools shown here, I am honored that you and your wife like these.
A steampunk motiff on these would be really nice, I would love to see that.
As for scissors, your reading my mind. I also plan to make some damascus pizza cutters before christmas.
After doing alittle research earlier Cutco makes some no-tool takedown scissors and pizza cutters I plan to emulate if I can.
Fun times ahead indeed.
