You booth looked great....I'm surprised you didn't sell more...that outdoor stuff is a hard call, the last one I did it started to pour right after I set up (without a canopy), fortunately there was a gazebo they put me under....I sold 2 small pieces to other artists...but I did get the chance to meet Rob and Susan,,,well worth the effort... » reply Hi Chuck, I`m glad you made

Hi Chuck! Glad to hear you sold a piece...you never know what's going to happen with shows. The last one I was in we had the fires out here where I live and the wind was terrible!!! Been in the rain as well at another venue. Adding weights to the tent helps to keep the tent down. Cinder Blocks are good when you don't have grass to sink stakes into. It's always a learning experience! LOL! Jamie Santellano » reply At least you sold one thing.

At least you sold one thing. Next show you sell two, after that three, and so on. For holding my EZ-Up canopy down on surfaces where I can't drive a stake, I have some brake disc rotors with plates bolted to the centers. The feet of the canopy are held to the plates by little U-shaped clips that screw down. I can double up the brake rotors by bolting them together with a couple bolts through the wheel stud holes. A pair of rotors from Chevy Blazers (I get used ones free from our police garage) weighs about thirty pounds. They hold the canopy down in all but a raging gale. Rich » reply Nice set up

Chuck, just catching up some and had to make a comment on your nice clean set up for the show. Looks like you made a good choice and did not go all out for some fancy set up. Yeah the wind sucks and I have big panels in mine and holy toledo some days with the wind. I am glad that you sold something. It is hard to tell how well the shows around here will be this year. I went to one back in the middle of April and not very successful. I got lucky and sold a couple of pieces to pay for the space. Lots of people never made there space cost besides all of their traveling expense. Also must be nice to have room all around you. I have been to some fairs that when they tell you that you have a 10X10 space they mean it. So in the future if you are looking to help hold the canopy from blowing over with weights watch how much space they take up. Cinder blocks are large, Rich brake rotor would work if you had the room. I hate having anything stick out side of my legs because people trip over anything. I have some 2" tubes filled with metal and Velcro to my legs. Well good luck on your next show. I have one coming up this weekend so will see. Oh what the heck do not want to hijack your blog but here is a picture of my booth. The show was inside in a large conference hall. I was also there to demo. They invited me and gave half off on the space cost and all the room I needed, along with all the propane if necessary. I took this picture Friday morning before the glass demo guy set up. He brought two very large kilns that were next to me to fill in the corner area. Was kind of fun time there even though nobody did great on sales. » reply Hi Warren

Hi Chuck,
Looks good. Sorry about the wind. I've been making a few things that can take the weather so I don't have to fear rain.I think it'll be more fun.
