Here's something new I'm working on. This cactus vase is a cold construction! One sheet of copper.

This is a very interesting

This is a very interesting form BJ! I'd love to read about how you made this vase. It would be great to see a step by step photo essay on how you made this.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your interest.

Thank you for your interest, I consider that to be a compliment. There are a bunch of pcs in this collection of original work. I'm trying to post one more of them but it's not sending. I'll try again. The work spans a two year time period and is well documented. I'm not that far from
offering instruction on the process. Trap-forming builds from other research that I call idea development. I'll share idea development pics. Soon smiling Brad

Cool BJ. Looks like some serious fold forming. What size sheet did you start with?

Thank you

Thank you . I like serious-fold forming. It's more like a branch from the fold forming tree. huh ? I buy copper in 4'x10' sheets. Brad

Bill's question

Da temporary sanity set in, the sheet for the copper vase started out as a 24"x36" sorry about that. smiling again Brad

copper vase

B.J. That is AWESOME! I'm new to copper (to art in general. woke up one day and said, why can't i be an artist). I discovered copper and aging copper and all the incredible colors and hues. At any rate, I really like this piece! It is very nice. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks Brad. I'll join up.

Thanks Brad. I'll join up. I've been trying different etching techniques and it is driving me insane. I think I finally stumbled onto the right dye to use with my stamp, and I think i have the correct timing required for etching in ferric chloride. Figuring out what to rub onto the copper to stain the markings so the etchings stand out and then to brown up the copper is my next hurtle. All of that to say, I look forward to gleaning info from this site and the folks here.

you're welcome

Good
get 'er done! You are going to have a bunch of fun here. Can't wait to see the etchings. Browning up happens quickly here in Florida. Ammonia fumes could speed up the process. Experimenting is just part of the fun. For fun I'd try some in a tin shoe polish as a stain. Seen crazier things done.
enjoy
