This was the last section I made of "Kelp" railing for a new modern Tuscan Style house on the lagoon in Belvedere. It connected to the large straight section on the main outside deck and descended a small stairway to a dock on the water's edge. The volute forging took four hours of time for both me and my partner,then another 2 to blend it sculpturally with the 2"square tubing newel post. Flat bar forged and turned like this is called, "bending the hard way."
