"Croatian"railing,front facade

This is named "Croatian"only because my client took a rather high resolution video of a railing in Croatia while on a pilgrimage(his roots)and asked me to reproduce it for his 10,ooo sq.ft mansion here in Alexander Valley, the heart of Wine Country. I suspect the original design is actually French. I don't as a rule do other peoples designs ,but in this particular case I though it a really lovely scroll (as scrolls go) AND an interesting symbiotic style with the buildings architecture, which consistently reminded me of the Palace of Knossos on Crete,King Midas's remarkable architectural complex til fate and the Gods conspired against him.(Partially destroyed by earthquake somewhere around 1200 BC.)
Anyway,My partner and I had a hell of a time because this client (bless his black little heart) was VERY specific that a PENCIL must fit snuggly within the center of each scroll, all 427 of them...
Three months later we were finished and it DID look like a palace and all were happy...
This is the same residence with two of my Juliet Balcony railings
on opposing sides of the "house".

Very nice work. I hope the weather was nice during installation. You have every reason to be proud. It is really lovely.

Croatian Railing

Stefani,
The weather was indeed nice for the install, and all the parts fit perfectly...Whew
Rope light was strung up inside the cap rail throughout the whole railing. The first time I saw it lit up at night I couldn't believe it. It was truly awesome.Unfortunately I didn't get any good shots. This project was in the nineties and this kind of extravagant construction has gone the way of the dodo...I know this client had some serious financial difficulty with his business (coffee) a couple of years after this project so I'm not even sure they still live there...
